Author Guidelines

Authors interested in submitting their work to Contemporary Issues in Law, Culture, and Globalization are expected to adhere to the following submission and formatting guidelines. These instructions are designed to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with international academic publishing standards. All manuscripts must follow APA (American Psychological Association) style, 7th edition for in-text citations, references, and formatting conventions.


1. Manuscript Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal's online submission system.

Submissions must include:

  • The main manuscript (anonymous, without author names or affiliations)

  • A separate title page (including full author details)

  • A signed conflict of interest disclosure (optional for initial submission, mandatory upon acceptance)

  • Any ethical approval statements if applicable

Manuscripts that do not conform to these guidelines may be returned without review.


2. Scope and Type of Articles Accepted

The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical papers, legal commentaries, case studies, and critical reviews. Topics must fall within the journal’s scope, focusing on the intersection of law, culture, and globalization.

Word limits:

  • Original research articles: 5,000 to 8,000 words (including references)

  • Review articles: up to 9,000 words

  • Short communications/commentaries: 2,000 to 3,000 words

  • Extended abstracts (invited): up to 1,200 words


3. Manuscript Structure

Each submission must include the following sections:

3.1. Title Page (submitted separately)

  • Title of the article (concise, descriptive)

  • Full names of all authors

  • Institutional affiliations

  • ORCID iDs (if available)

  • Corresponding author’s email address

  • Acknowledgments (if applicable)

  • Funding disclosures (if applicable)

3.2. Abstract

  • 200–250 words

  • Structured format (Background, Objective, Methods, Findings, Conclusion)

  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant keywords, listed below the abstract

3.3. Main Text

The body of the manuscript should follow this structure:

  • Introduction: State the background, rationale, and objectives.

  • Theoretical/Legal Framework: Ground the study in relevant theory, law, or jurisprudence.

  • Methods and Materials: Describe the study design, methodology, data sources, and ethical considerations.

  • Findings/Results: Present the analysis clearly, using tables or figures where appropriate.

  • Discussion: Interpret the findings in context of existing literature.

  • Conclusion: Summarize key insights and suggest implications or future directions.


4. Formatting Requirements

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

  • Spacing: Double-spaced throughout (including references)

  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides

  • Page numbers: Bottom right corner

  • Headings: Use APA heading levels (Levels 1–5) appropriately

  • Footnotes: Use sparingly and only when necessary for legal commentary

  • Tables and Figures: Insert after references, one per page, with APA-style captions


5. In-Text Citations (APA 7th Edition)

Use the author–date system. Here are examples of proper in-text citation formats:

  • One author: (Ahmed, 2020)

  • Two authors: (Smith & Lee, 2019)

  • Three or more authors: (Kumar et al., 2021)

  • Direct quote: (Miller, 2022, p. 45)

Example:
Globalization has influenced traditional legal norms in unprecedented ways (Choudhury, 2018).

For legal texts, international treaties, or constitutions, provide appropriate references in-text with clarity, e.g., (United Nations Charter, 1945).


6. Reference List (APA Style)

All references cited in the manuscript must be listed at the end in alphabetical order, double-spaced, and formatted according to APA 7th edition.

  • Online Resource:

Ensure all sources listed are cited in-text and vice versa.


7. Ethical Compliance

Authors must indicate if their study required and received ethical approval (for studies involving human subjects, interviews, or personal data). A statement of ethical compliance must be included in the “Methods” section.


8. Conflicts of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional relationships that could be perceived to influence the manuscript. If there is no conflict, authors should state: “The authors declare no conflicts of interest.”


9. Language and Style

Manuscripts must be submitted in clear, academic English. Authors for whom English is a second language are encouraged to have their manuscript edited by a native speaker or professional editing service prior to submission. British or American English is acceptable, but usage must be consistent throughout the manuscript.


10. Submission Checklist

Before submission, ensure:

  • Manuscript is anonymized for review

  • Separate title page is included

  • Abstract and keywords are provided

  • All in-text citations are listed in the reference list

  • APA 7th edition style is used consistently

  • Tables and figures are labeled and cited in-text


11. Post-Acceptance

Once accepted:

  • Authors will be required to submit final files (Word format)

  • A publication agreement will be signed (CC BY-NC 4.0 license)

  • The article processing charge (APC) of 1,500,000 Tomans will be invoiced

  • The article will be formatted, proofread, and published on the journal’s website under open access

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
